Tell us a little about how you met.
We met by chance in a local bar on 7th November 2013! Hristo was considering going back home to Bulgaria for good however, I put a stop to that!
Talk us through the proposal.
The beautiful old town beach resort of Sozopol, Bulgaria, on the 12th July 2018. After some rather large rums and vodka cocktails, a night-time walk on the beach was followed by Hristo getting down on two knees due to the sunburn from the day before! Hristo even had it planned that the box had a little light to be sure we could see the ring!

Why Galgorm Resort & Spa?
I knew Galgorm had a great reputation before visiting the Resort however, once we viewed it we were just blown away by not only the beauty of the resort, which feels like you are in another country on holidays, but also the professionalism and attention to detail of all the amazing staff. The wedding packages had everything you could imagine but there was also the flexibility to make it what you wanted for your day. The addition of recommended suppliers and a wedding planner really made the whole process straightforward especially during COVID and having to reschedule twice!
What made you choose a Resort location?
Having both the ceremony and reception in the one Resort location was one of the best decisions we made. We also stayed in the Log Cabin/ Cottages the night before. Being in the one location took away any worries about transport or guests finding where to go.
Tell us the most memorable part of your day
· My father giving me a shot of whiskey in a prosecco glass, as you do, before leaving for the ceremony is up there alongside our little chihuahua Jeffery barking with either approval or jealousy when we first kissed as husband and wife! However, perhaps most memorable was when Hristo and I finally settled into our Bridal suite, the beautiful Suite 1875, opening the door onto the balcony overseeing the river and it sinking in that we were finally married (third date lucky due to COVID)!
Advice for future couples?
Don’t be afraid to ask anything to ensure you have the special day you envisage. Also, enjoy the preparation and the day itself, if anything doesn’t go to plan, remember the real reason for the day and be in the moment!
