The Couple

Tell us a little about how you met

Rab was a doorman at our local pub 'Ownies Bar Bistro' in Carrickfergus at the time and I was on an unplanned night out with my girls. I guess we both 'noticed' each other that night and the following day I added him on facebook, he private messaged me straight away and here we are.

Talk us through the proposal

We normally take a break to Galgorm in January as our Christmas treat, with working in retail we don't get to see much of each other over the holidays. Galgorm has been our 'haven'. So in 2016, Rab had surprised me with a room upgrade and booked a private hot tub by the river with champagne and chocolates. It really was so magical. He produced a box in the hot tub with a note and a love heart in it saying 'Marry Me'. It was the perfect moment in the perfect setting! The following day we started our morning with a relaxing breakfast in bed and went on to pick the perfect ring together.

As above Galgorm has become our 'Haven' a real treat and our happy place. The resort has always been a place where we go when we want to get away from it all, be pampered and are always treated like royalty. Tell us the most memorable part of your day

Rab - 'Coming in off a rainy day to the magic of the Phantom house, how it was set up by Fairytale events and watching my bride walk down the aisle'

Stef - 'My best friend couldn't make it home from Australia for the wedding due to major spinal surgery 8 weeks before. I was obviously devastated but all that mattered to me was that she got better! While getting ready in the Boudoir, my friend came in saying she had Nicole on FaceTime, asked me to turn around because she wanted to see my hair and when I turned around there was Nicole standing in her bridesmaid dress! For as long as I live I will never forget what Nicole has done for me! Friendship goals or what?!'
