Tell us a little about how you met & talk us through the proposal
Ben and I met just after we finished school over 10 years ago. We have bought our first home, got our big loveable dog Cooper and opened a cafe in Portrush.
On 1st February 2022, we were down in Newcastle for a few days away. We were walking around the gorgeous Tollymore forest, and had stopped at the small lake. The sun was shining and it was so peaceful! I took a photo of Ben looking over the water and immediately after he turned around and got down on one knee and proposed!

Why Galgorm?
I honestly don’t know where to start. Galgorm has always been a special place to us. We try to get a night away to Galgorm at any opportunity we can because once you step foot in the door you instantly relax.
When it came to looking at wedding venues I knew it was my ideal place so visited the wedding showcase with my mum, mother in law and maid of honour and we all fell in love with it! Ben and I came back the week after to meet with Donna and immediately knew we were going to go for it! Ben said straight away why would we go anywhere else, we love Galgorm, the package makes it so easy to organise and Galgorm have so much experience so we knew it would run smoothly!
Tell us the most memorable part of your day
It’s very hard to pick as everything was perfect! After dinner our photographer took us and the bridal party out behind the renaissance suite to beside the river for photos. It was so nice to have a moment to have a laugh and look round us and take it all in. It was such a beautiful setting as the sun went down.
Our whole bridal party stayed for the night of the wedding and the night after. We used the spa all day and then went for dinner. On the second morning, my Dad who is a “big tough guy” was checking out. When the lady behind reception asked how was everything sir, he had a tear in his eyes again and said everything was perfect!
