Tell us a little about how you met
Steven and I were childhood sweethearts, having been introduced to each other as teenagers 9 years ago by my cousin Stacey, who was one of our bridesmaids on the day. Steven and I are complete opposites in hobbies and beliefs but with the same sense of humour - not a day passes which isn't laughter filled! I am a labour ward midwife, and a vegetarian keen on helping animal charities (even convincing Steven we needed to adopt our doggo!), whereas Steven is a carpenter by trade teaching vulnerable groups, who loves fishing and his other love (his 1987 Toyota Supra which of course made an appearance at our wedding!)
Talk us through the proposal
In 2016, we took a trip to Mexico to spend time with sea turtles under conservation as well as to celebrate my graduation at the time. After watching the sun rise on our first morning we took a long walk along the powder white beach, passing turtle nests and other gorgeous natural sights. We stopped at a curved palm tree to talk photos but what I didn't realise was that Steven had set up a video recording, and he chose that moment to get down on one knee. It was the most amazing setting!

Why Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort
Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort was the first place we ever took a trip away together in 2012, and we've frequented for special occasions since. We just love the service, the grounds and no other venue compared.
What made you choose a Resort location
Having a Resort wedding allowed a truly inclusive and stress-free expereince! I was able to relax the night before the wedding with the girls in a log cabin, we got ready in the boudoir on the wedding morning (so relaxing and a fab breakfast!), our guests celebrated the day after the wedding with a BBQ in the Mulberry Garden, as well as relax in the spa after a late night!
Tell us the most memorable part of your day
for the both of us it is without a doubt our romantic and intimate ceremony in the Phantom House, as well as dancing the night away with our friends and family members.
Advice for future couples
We are so glad that so many people had told us quickly that the day would go in, so we made a point of taking it all in! Also trust and use your Wedding Planner - Donna made our lives so much easier!
Galgorm Wedding Planner
The amazing Donna Cunningham! Such a life saver! Made the whole planning process and the day after so simplistic and stress-free. I don't think we could have planned the wedding without her!

Entertainment
During the ceremony and drinks reception we had Nigel Elliot play music - he was amazing! We had Manouche Boys as our band in the evening who really got the party started! We hired a selfie mirror provided by Walled City Photobooths & Selfie Mirrors, and had a casino by Las Vegas Fun Casinos
Decor & Design
Fairytale Events provided the draping and some decor.
S&Co. provided the gorgeous floral arch, and we depended a lot on DIY (the benefit of my new husband being a carpenter!)
