Tell us a little about how you met
James and I met through mutual friends. The first date was mini golf and a burger – the rest is history!
Talk us through the proposal
It was a total surprise, you don’t expect to get a proposal after getting home on a dark winter’s night in January! I was thinking how horrible and wet it was and talking myself round of how fun hockey would be as I drove home. I ran into the house shielding myself from the rain to be greeted by James on one knee in the kitchen! Very unexpected but it was the best surprise, and I didn’t make hockey that night but went for a celebratory meal down the Lisburn Road. It was the best January.

Why Galgorm Resort & Spa
James and I have always loved Galgorm, we visit every year. Every time we visit, the experience of the spa, food, service and staff are second to none. When we first got engaged, we had no doubts where we wanted to get married.
What made you choose a Resort location
We love the surroundings and loved the idea of having the ceremony and reception at one location for our guests to sit back and relax for the entire day. We also knew we wanted to stay another night after the wedding to take it all in and enjoy the spa and our first meal as a married couple in Gillies.
Tell us the most memorable part of your day
We took a 10-minute drive after our ceremony in the Galgorm’s Rolls Royce, it was lovely to just take it all in, have a chat and relax.
Advice for future couples
Enjoy every minute, take it all in and smile all day! The days goes so quick so remember it is the most special day of your lives.
Galgorm Wedding Planner
Donna Cunningham, after re-arranging 3 times we finally had our dream day. There were many emails exchanged but Donna was fantastic to work with. She made us feel so relaxed about the uncertainty and we are so happy we got to work with her.

Cake
Gemma’s Cakes – we picked biscoff, vanilla and raspberry & white chocolate. It was absolutely amazing and all our guests loved the flavours.
Flowers
Fleruise, Finaghy. Emma was amazing to work with, I had a clear idea of what I wanted and she made my dream much more! The floral arch placed in the Phantom House was a showpiece. It was then moved to the Phantom Garden and we got some fantastic photos.
Entertainment
Nigel Elliot sang during the ceremony and drinks reception, our guests really enjoyed his singing. Picture the Sound were the band. They were brilliant.
Décor & Design
We didn’t want to change much. Fleuriste used tall rose gold stands for the centrepieces which were beautiful.
Photographer
Angel – we picked Andrea as she carried out our engagement shoot. She made us feel so at ease and our photos are fantastic. We didn’t want to spend too much time away from our guests and Andrea made sure we weren’t but captured so much in a short space of time.
