Tell us a little about how you met
Jonathan and I both went to the same school but we didn't really know each other. It wasn't until a school trip to Israel that we became close and the romance started! We went on our first date the day after we came home from Israel. Fast forward six years and we were engaged!
Talk us through the proposal
It was sitting in the River Room at Galgorm when we first talked about getting married. Later that day we went 'ring shopping' and I fell in love with the first ring I tried on. While I had picked my ring, I didn't know when Jonathan was going to propose. A few months later, he surprised me and popped the question when we were walking along Portstewart Strand - one of our favourite places!
Ceremony
Our ceremony was held in First Moneymore Presbyterian Church. We also had afternoon tea in the church hall after the service provided by Joanne Loughrin.

Why Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort
From enjoying afternoon tea to relaxing in the Thermal Spa Village, we have always loved spending time at Galgorm. During our viewing of Galgorm as a wedding venue, my parents came with us. We were so impressed by the stunning wedding reception suites and the beautiful scenery. The Wedding Team were so accommodating and made us feel completely at ease. Their helpfulness, professionalism and attention to detail played a huge part in us choosing Galgorm for our wedding venue.
What made you choose a Resort location
Galgorm has everything you would ever need! We loved being able to spend time with our guests the following day during breakfast and in The Spa.
Tell us the most memorable part of the day
The singing of our first hymn, Psalm 100, was one of the most memorable parts of the day. Hearing the congregation singing, the organ and piano made us both feel very emotional! Another memorable part of our day was being able to have our friends and family together and spending time with them during the reception. It was amazing having all our nearest and dearest under one roof!
Advice for future couples
Take time the following day to relax and reflect on the day with family and friends. If possible, we would definitelly recommend spending another night at Galgorm.
Galgorm Wedding Planner
Our Wedding Planner was Donna Cunningham who was absolutely amazing! Her organisational skills, patience and attention to detail was second to none. We can't speak highly enough of her!
Gabi was there to oversee the whole day. He made the whole day run so smoothly and our guests also commented on his professionalism. Gabi was fantastic!
Wedding Stationery
Perfect Day Print
Jonathan's cousin, Mark, designed our stationery as he is a director there. He even made signs for our Wedding the day before!
Cake
Christine made the most beautiful cake which tasted as good as it looked! David Anderson made the cake hoop which was decorated with flowers by House of Elliott.
Flowers
House of Elliott, Lisburn
Karen was amazing to work with and knew exactly what we wanted. She provided flowers for the church which were transported to decorate The Great Hall. The flowers far exceeded my imagination!
Entertainment
My friends from university, Rachel and Judith, played the violin and flute during our afternoon tea in the church hall. During our drinks reception at Galgorm, the Jazz Meisters provided entertainent for our guests. They played outside which allowed our guests to enjoy the music and drinks in the sunshine! The Untouchables were fantastic at our evening party as they played a variety of music to suit all tastes. They encouraged everybody to dance even my grandparents!
Photographer
Alexandra was a pleasure to work with. She captured beautiful shots which told the story of the day. I loved the mix of traditional photographs with the more candid shots.
Videographer
Matthew Fields Media
Matthew was so professional and we were so pleased with our video. I would highly recommend having a videographer as we loved being able to watch our day back again!
Favours
Along with a Lindor Chocolate, we gave a donation to Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick children and Macmillan Cancer Care.
Wedding Dress & Accessories
My dress was Suzanne Neville from Serendipity Bridal Boutique. Irena McCrory did the alterations for my dress - she was a life saver! My shoes were Ted Baker and jewellery was from Cahoons Jewellers, Cookstown. My bracelet was a gift from Jonathan which I opened on the morning of the wedding.
Bridesmaids Dresses
Joanne Ferguson designed and created our bridesmaid dresses. She sourced the fabric which was the exact shade of blue that I had imagined. She knew exactly what would suit each of my bridesmaids and made them feel a million dollars! Her attention to detail was amazing and she even hand painted a floral design for the bridesmaid dresses to tie in the rose print on my dress. I cannot praise Joanne highly enough!
Groomswear
The suits were hired from Hire Class, Ballymena. It was a great one stop shop as we got everything we needed for the men including cufflinks and shoes. They were great to work with!
Hair
Rebecca Mulholland Hair
From Rebecca's Instagram posts of bridal hair, I knew I wanted to book her for my own wedding. She was a dream to work with!
Makeup
Tippy Logronio
I love how Tippy creates beautiful natural make up. She really listened to what each of us wanted for our make-up and made us feel so at ease on the morning of the wedding.
