Tell us a little about how you met & talk us through the proposal
We met through a mutual friend just over 8 years ago, we dated casually before I went to Canada for month but while I was away we missed each other so much we decided we would be boyfriend/girlfriend, when I was coming home from holiday Colin drove the whole way to Dublin so he could be the first person to see me when I got off the plane.
5 and a half years later we got a crazy puppy called Echo (husky) together.
Roll on almost 7 years from we met and I went to help my neighbour out and when I came back down Echo was wearing a little bandana and Colin looked super nervous, he handed me a letter which I had to read before he let me see what the bandana read, it said, "will you marry my dad?" and suddenly a sparkling ring appeared right infront of Echo and of course I said yes after staring at him for 3 minutes in shock with my jaw on the floor.
He had bought a bandana for her to wear to my mums to tell her but she took 45 minutes to notice it by which point we had to ask her if she had read it, she was over the moon.
We decided on Galgorm as our wedding reception on our 8 year anniversary and honestly it was the best choice we could make, I can't imagine the stress if we hadn't had Jonathan, Karen and Rebecca to help us. The day went off perfectly and we had decided to stay for the rest of the week as a mini honeymoon, we didn't want to ever leave Galgorm.
