We met through one of my best friends who happened to be a few years older than me and was also friends with Barry. I had never been out in Belfast before and she had convinced me to go out one night to celebrate the end of my exams. She told me that night she was driving and was giving Barry and his friend a lift, I knew of him and had always thought he was very handsome, so that night we met and it all began then and now 7 years later we are married. I am glad she convinced me to go that night
I booked us a holiday to Cancun for Barry's 30th birthday. We flew out for 2 weeks in May 2015 with two of our friends. 2 days before we were due to go home I had hoped to go to a famous American restaurant for dinner (Buba Gumps lol) I had been waiting to go for the whole 2 weeks, but our 2 friends asked could we go the next night as they wanted to go to town to buy presents, I was not happy (little did I know it was all part of the plan) I told Barry if we were staying in the hotel I would not be doing myself up or dressing up, quick thinking he said he wanted us to get some nice pictures on the beach on our own as he doesn’t like getting pictures esp in front of people, so I got ready and we went down towards the beach it was very dark so I turned around to Barry to say it was too dark for pictures and when I turned around he was down on one knee, I could not speak as I never expected it as Barry used to pretend we wouldn’t be getting married for a long time until after we built our house. He had chosen the ring himself it was perfect I could not have chosen a better one myself, also our 2 friends were watching from the hotel restaurant. If that wasn't shocking enough he then had a romantic meal on the beach arranged and also had the hotel staff decorate the hotel room with towel swans and rose petals. It still gives me goosebumps thinking about it.

My parents had booked us a night stay as our engagement present, it was the first time we had ever been to Galgorm Resort & Spa. I booked the wedding show around for the next day, Mum and Dad joined us for the show around, after that, we made the decision straight away it was perfect everything about it was all I had ever dreamed about. We didn’t even look or consider any other venues
The spa even before the extension was out of this world we cannot stay away. The picturesque setting was also a major decision maker it is breath taking. The rooms and restaurants are fantastic and also the packages are amazing. Galgorm really is the whole package it has everything you could want to make your wedding the perfect magical day
Our whole day was perfect from start to finish. I could honestly not pick one thing, the ceremony was beautiful, the reception venue was amazing, the food, the band, even the weather was great for the end of October - just everything. One thing I definitely think stands out is how my dad had surprised me with the father daughter dance song. I had said I wanted the band to sing my girls, but on that evening the band made an announcement that my dad had been to a recording studio and recorded a song for the father daughter dance. He had done a cover of 'I loved her first' my dad loves to sing as a hobby but he never done anything like that, it was so special. Needless to say, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house
