Tell us a little about how you met & talk us through the proposal
We first met after a night out when we were 17. We clicked right away and soon we were texting and meeting up almost every day. We loved walks across Ballycastle Beach after school or work. We were inseperable, and even when I started Uni in Liverpool, Danny came along with me. Soon after, we became young parents to our now teenage son Conall. Fast forward only 14 years to 2019 (it took him a while); We went another beach walk together across White Park Bay Beach, Danny got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It wasnt a total surprise as I'd had to send him a few hints beforehand! But it was the most amazing day because we also found out that we were expecting our lovely little daughter Éabha.
Ceremony
We had our ceremony in The Phantom House. Such a beautiful romantic room, we had a humanist celebrant Liz Peel, who made the ceremony perfectly tailored and personal to us.
Reception
We decided to have a smaller wedding of around 70 guests, so had our reception in the amazing Four Seasons Suite.]
Why Galgorm?
Danny first came to Galgorm Spa with me a couple of years ago. He doesn't often sit down to chill, so it took some persuasion, but since that first spa trip, he was totally converted. We come as often as we can now for a little but of 'us' time. Because of this and because of the service we always have in galgorm from all staff, as well as how stunning both the hotel and grounds are, we knew it was the perfect venue for us.
Tell us the most memorable part of your day
The whole day went past so quickly, but the most memorable part for me was the ceremony. We had an amazing singer, Mollie McKeever an amazing celebrant in Liz and the most stunning ceremony room, putting all that together was just amazing. Second to that would probably be daddy arriving to my house 40 minutes later than he was meant to arrive for photos. Not dressed yet in his suit or ready to go. But wearing work clothes and his Wellington boots as he'd decided to wash the car... again!
