Tell us a little about how you met & talk us through the proposal
Gavin and I met at a New Years Eve party. I recognised him from primary school as he was a couple of years older than I was. He asked me for a song (I was looking after the karaoke) which I said we didn't have then proceeded to rhyme off what I knew about him. He could've panicked and ran but he didn't and we've been together ever since that night 12 years ago.
It took Gavin a time to propose lol. But I had always said he had to ask and ask my dad. We're not necessarily traditional but it's how I would like him to do it. While on a family holiday he did ask my dad unbeknownst to anyone else. Then a couple of months later the two of us were on holiday and one day trip to Achill Island.
Gavin had the ring and he was just looking for the perfect spot to propose. We had stopped at a view point and I was eager to drive on after a short stop. But Gavin had different ideas. He got out of the car and asked me to stand on one of the large boulders. He was halfway down on one knee when I turned around to ask what he was doing! It wouldn't be us if I didn't disrupt something lol! But I accepted and we drove on as I constantly admired this beautiful sparkling ring he had chosen.

Why Galgorm?
We initially had reservations about having our wedding at a hotel. Possibly not being the only wedding on the day we thought others might interrupt ours. However, we knew the only hotel we would consider was Galgorm. The setting, the facilities and the atmosphere were key elements in making our decision. When we had our initial appointment and it was explained to us about having our own wedding coordinator on the day and everything would be managed so there would be no overlap with any other weddings we decided to book Galgorm. Having accommodation on site and booking the Four Seasons Suite just put our minds at ease. Jenny was fantastic helping us make decisions and guiding us through everything in the lead up to the day. On the day, Rebecca was superb at asking sure everything went like clockwork. So glad to have chosen Galgorm!
Tell us the most memorable part of your day
There were so many memorable parts to our day. From getting ready to the ceremony to the reception through to the dancing. I had read and been told to take the day in as it goes by in a flash and it does. It was still a surreal day after being together so many years we were finally saying 'I do'. Probably the most memorable part of the day was sitting at dinner and looking at all the tables filled with family and friends and seeing them all enjoy themselves and chatting with each other. That was what we both wanted for the day. Getting lots of lovely comments from our guests throughout the day definitely confirmed we'd made the right choices.
