Meet Donna

What was your first job? 

I started off silver serving at weddings and working in a restaurant, which I did for 3 or 4 years until I became full time in the industry. 

What inspired you to get into the hospitality industry?

I was encouraged by my family who also worked in hospitality, it was more like a second family to me. I enjoy that hospitality is like one big family. 

How would you describe yourself to someone who’d never met you?

Reassuring, organised, calming and up for a laugh.

Which venue within Galgorm is your favourite? 

The Great Hall, the greatest hall of them all! I love how timeless it is, it will always be impressive. It is warm, inviting, and grand not to mention the stunning waterfall backdrop. 

What is your favourite part of wedding planning? 

I love getting to know my couples and their families and bringing their vision to life. 

Who do you look up to/who inspires you?

Donna from Suits because she has her life together and if anyone ever has a problem, she fixes it. Nothing is too much trouble. I have been told I have similar characteristics which inspired me more! 

What website or app could you not do without?

Instagram/ “The Gram”, it has such a lovely community feel and in particular I love reading parenting stories and following a lot of other mummies because they are relatable. 

Tell us something interesting about yourself?

 I was one of the first brides to take part in the trend “Trash my Dress” by sitting in a River, I felt like a mermaid!

What’s your greatest passion outside work and family?

My dogs and the gym. I love my furr babies and a good gym session is what I need to start of a busy day doing what I love.
